Fever's Sophie Cunningham celebrates hitting 1M TikTok followers after sticking up for Caitlin Clark Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham started out last Wednesday with just over 300,000 TikTok followers coming off a heated game against the Connecticut Sun, which saw her get ejected when she doled out some retribution before the buzzer sounded. The moment she tussled with Sun guard Jacy Sheldon, who had poked Caitlin Clark in the eye earlier in the game, she became an instant sensation. Cunningham had previously gone viral before for her outfit choices while she was with the Phoenix Mercury. However, even she may admit that she never saw her popularity soar as it did over the last six days. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM On Saturday, Cunningham surpassed more than 1 million followers on TikTok and thanked her newfound fans for their appreciation. "should buy yall a beer or 2! Cheeeers friends," she captioned a video. As of Tuesday morning, Cunningham had 1.4 million TikTok followers. Cunningham gained huge favor for her apparent defense of Clark, who was not only poked in the face, but pushed to the floor in the team’s win over the Sun. CAITLIN CLARK'S SHOCKING COLD STREAK CONTINUES AS FEVER CRUMBLE IN THE FOURTH QUARTER TO ACES She was fined for her actions following the foul on Sheldon and for the ejection, but she was adamant in her defense of Clark. "During that, it was just part of the game. I think the refs had a lot to do with that. It was a build-up for a couple years now of them just not protecting the star player of the WNBA," Cunningham told reporters days after the team lost to the Golden State Valkyries. "At the end of the day, I'm going to protect my teammates. That's what I do." Ahead of Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Aces, Cunningham showed off her bond with Clark and fellow teammate Lexie Hull. She wore a shirt that read, "Tres Leches." Cunningham and the Fever have hit a losing spell the last two games but have an opportunity to get back on the right track Tuesday night against the Seattle Storm. Dodgers broadcaster Orel Hershiser brings up Astros sign-stealing scandal in Houston's historic rout over LA Los Angeles Dodgers pitching great Orel Hershiser opened up old wounds on Friday night when he brought up the Houston Astros sign-stealing scandal during the team's historic 18-1 rout at Dodger Stadium. The Astros put on a show in Friday night’s series opener between the two teams and handed Los Angeles its worst loss in the history of Dodger Stadium. The beatdown was so bad that Hershiser, now a broadcaster for the Dodgers, seemed to suggest foul play. "I don’t want to open an old wound, but in some ways, they’re swinging at these breaking balls like they know what is coming," Hershiser said in the third inning after Astros outfielder Cam Smith doubled off Dodgers rookie Ben Casparius in the third inning. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS Hershiser was referring to the Astros' 2017 World Series win over the Dodgers. It was later revealed that Houston was stealing signs with the help of video and relaying pitches to batters by banging on a trash can. Jose Altuve, who was a member of that championship-winning team, was met with relentless "cheater" chants and boos during his at-bats. But the home crowd didn’t distract him as he homered twice while reaching base five times and driving in five runs. DODGERS' CLAYTON KERSHAW JOINS ELITE GROUP IN MLB HISTORY AFTER REACHING 3,000 CAREER STRIKEOUTS "Yea, that was one you want to flush as soon as possible. I don’t think there were many positives from this night," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said bluntly of the 17-deficit loss. "I don’t think Ben [Casparius]was good tonight. It seemed like they were on everything he threw tonight." Caparius allowed six runs and nine hits in three innings and struck out three. Roberts said on Friday that Caparius will likely make his return to the bullpen. "At the end of the day, he's just got to execute better. There might have been 60 throws tonight, and probably only a handful executed where he wanted them to be. And that's tough to do," he said. The Associated Press contributed to this report. Ex-MLB star says he would 'no longer support' Trump if US goes to war Former Cincinnati Reds shortstop Zack Cozart was a staunch supporter of Donald Trump as he defeated former Vice President Kamala Harris for the White House in the 2024 presidential election. But the one-time MLB All-Star drew a line in his support for the president on Monday as Trump called for mass evacuations in Tehran while tensions between Israel and Iran escalated. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM "If Trump gets us in a war, I will no longer support him, and I’m sure most of you know I love Trump," Cozart wrote in a post on X. Trump is set to depart the G7 summit in Canada on Monday night because of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran. "President Trump had a great day at the G7, even signing a major trade deal with the United Kingdom and Prime Minister Keir Starmer," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said. "Much was accomplished, but because of what’s going on in the Middle East, President Trump will be leaving tonight after dinner with Heads of State." SHOHEI OHTANI'S FORMER INTERPRETER REPORTS TO PRISON FOR STEALING NEARLY $17 MILLION Trump has requested that the National Security Council be prepared in the situation room for his return, Fox News has learned. Meanwhile, White House spokesperson Alex Pfeiffer dismissed reports the U.S. military was joining Israel in an attack on Iran. "This is not true. American forces are maintaining their defensive posture, and that has not changed. We will defend American interests," Pfeiffer wrote on X. Cozart came out in support of Trump ahead of the president’s speech at the Republican National Convention nearly a year ago. "I dunno bout yall but I can’t wait to vote for Trump… I’ve honestly never seen the party as united as now… they tried to kill our President … least we can do is VOTE!!" he wrote. Cozart played in Major League Baseball from 2011 to 2019. The Tennessee native was a second-round pick of the Reds in 2007. He played with the Los Angeles Angels for the final two years of his career in 2018 and 2019. He was an All-Star in 2017 when he hit 24 home runs, drove in 63 runs and hit .297. He played in 839 career games, batted .247 with a .300 on-base percentage and a .699 OPS with 87 career home runs and 305 RBI. Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov takes Stanley Cup on 5 am neighborhood tour, GM reveals The Florida Panthers won back-to-back Stanley Cups after winning Game 6 over the Edmonton Oilers, 5-1, on Tuesday night. As one would expect, a party ensued at Amerant Bank Arena, and it lasted all night long for players and fans alike. However, what captain Aleksander Barkov did in the early hours of Wednesday morning is one of the funniest Stanley Cup stories of all time. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM A Ring camera in Barkov’s development caught him going house to house, showing his neighbors the Stanley Cup. Yes, he brought it home with him. Panthers GM Bill Zito made an appearance on ESPN’s "The Pat McAfee Show," where he shared that Barkov was walking around his neighborhood at 5 a.m. with Lord Stanley’s Cup. SAM BENNETT WINS CONN SMYTHE TROPHY AS PANTHERS CLAIM 2ND STRAIGHT STANLEY CUP "Apparently, he went home at like five in the morning to change and clean up before they kept going," Zito told the show. "And walked around the his neighborhood and banged on everyone’s front door. ‘Hey, you want coffee with the Cup?’" The Stanley Cup has been virtually everywhere over the years, especially with every player and coach getting a day with it before the new season begins. So, while Barkov’s story is not the craziest situation the Cup has been in, it is still a fun one as he wanted to share the celebration with everyone he could, even his neighbors. Barkov, now a two-time Stanley Cup champion, had two assists in the Game 6 rout of the Oilers, including the perfect pass to Sam Reinhart on his second of four goals on the night. That goal gave Florida a commanding 3-0 lead in the second period. The Panthers have played to the point where the dynasty conversation has come up, and Barkov is one of many superstars on the roster that will return for the 2025-26 season. However, preparation for three titles in a row will surely come. For now, Barkov and the rest of his teammates are keeping the party going, and he clearly wants everyone involved. Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu hits career milestone in New York’s gritty win over Atlanta Sabrina Ionescu matched her season-high of 34 points to lead the New York Liberty to a double-digit comeback over the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday night, rebounding from the team’s first loss of the season over the weekend. Despite Ionescu’s 20 first-half points, New York trailed by 17 points in the third quarter and were pacing to drop their second straight game after the Indiana Fever handed the reigning WNBA champions their first loss of the season on Saturday night. But momentum quickly shifted hands midway through the quarter. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM "I think we didn't play well, we didn't have toughness, we didn't have urgency," Liberty coach Sandy Brondello said of the first half of the game. "I think we found our identity, we found some energy… We just need to play harder sometimes." New York had seven turnovers to Atlanta’s three in the first half, but that identity crisis quickly faded behind another 14 points from Ionescu and Breanna Stewart’s 11. New York picked up their 10th win of the season with an 86-81 victory. "We're really proud of the way that we fought. And, obviously, that game could have easily gone the other direction and us just kind of giving up and being frustrated, and I think you were able to see a team that stayed together, dug really deep and then kind of just figured it out on the fly," Ionescu said after the game. LIBERTY COACH EMBRACES WNBA VIEWERSHIP MILESTONE POWERED BY CAITLIN CLARK'S RETURN: 'I LOVE IT' "I'm really impressed with our ability to do that because we haven't been put in that situation this year – to go down that big and have to try and dig our way out of a hole, and I think all these experiences are just going to help us as we continue to play in games and the season goes on." Ionescu recorded a season-high of 34 points against the Fever on Saturday. She hit that mark again on Tuesday night to mark back-to-back 30-point games for the first time in her WNBA career. Atlanta rookie Te-Hina Paopao led the Dream with 16 points, Allisha Gray added 14, and Brionna Jones and Rhyne Howard both finished with 13. Atlanta entered the game tied with the Liberty and Fever in the Commissioner's Cup games, but Indiana’s gritty win over the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday night clinched their place in the championship game where they’ll face the Minnesota Lynx on July 1. Shohei Ohtani's pitch sets personal record; Dodgers star continues to ramp up pitching activity Shohei Ohtani, the Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter, was back on the mound Saturday. The Kansas City Royals hosted the NL West-leading Dodgers. Ohtani had his longest pitching outing of the season in Kansas City. While the Dodgers dropped Saturday's game against the Royals, Ohtani gave up just one hit over two innings. He had gone just one inning in previous starts this season as he continues to ramp up pitching activity after having surgery in 2023 on his elbow. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM One of the pitches Ohtani threw from the Kauffman Stadium mound hit 101.7 mph, the highest speed of any pitch the two-way star has thrown in his MLB career. "Getting Shohei through two innings throwing the ball the way he did is certainly a positive," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. "I didn’t know it was 102 (mph). I just saw 100, so, no, I didn’t expect that. Now I’m going to keep my fingers crossed that he feels good coming out of today." DODGERS' SHOHEI OHTANI BLASTS HOMER IN WIN, ACHIEVES STATISTICAL FEAT UNSEEN SINCE WILLIE MAYS Ohtani struck out three times as the leadoff batter in the Dodgers' 9-5 loss. The three-time MVP did not pitch last season, his first with the Dodgers, while recovering from Tommy John surgery. He made 86 starts as a starter over five seasons with the Los Angeles Angels, going 38-19 with a 3.01 ERA. On Saturday, Ohtani threw first-pitch strikes to all seven batters he faced and finished with 27 pitches, 20 for strikes. "I’m happy that I was able to attack the zone," Ohtani said through an interpreter. "There’s some little things that I still need to work on, but overall I’m pretty happy." He allowed a one-out single to Bobby Witt Jr. in the first and walked Maikel Garcia before throwing the 101.7 mph fastball on an 0-2 count to Vinnie Pasquantino, who grounded into a double play. "It’s something I don’t think I would be able to do in a live BP setting," Ohtani said. "It’s nice to be able to hit this velo and see how my body reacts." The 30-year-old has 29 homers this season as Los Angeles’ primary designated hitter. The Associated Press contributed to this report. Eagles' AJ Dillon reflects on 'cool experience' attending Trump rally, meeting president Philadelphia Eagles running back AJ Dillon attended an October rally in Wisconsin for Donald Trump when Trump was the Republican nominee for president. Dillon, with the Green Bay Packers at the time, received a special shutout from Trump, who described Dillon as a "Green Bay football phenom." "You may know that name Quadzilla, the Quad Father – AJ Dillon. I got to meet him backstage. Get healthy soon AJ, get healthy," Trump told Dillon, who missed the 2024 season with a neck injury. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM Dillon reflected on the "cool experience" in a recent interview with Fox News Digital. "It was cool. I had never met a president before. Cool experience. I never even met Brett Favre before that," Dillon said. "It was a cool experience. If you’re getting called out by a president, regardless who you voted for, whoever it may be, that’s just a cool experience in itself. "Happy to have been there, been able to meet him, take pictures, stuff like that. I had never been to a rally and got that full experience, but definitely cool, for sure." EAGLES' AJ DILLON EXPLAINS WHY CAITLIN CLARK'S TEAMMATE, SOPHIE CUNNINGHAM, IS HIS 'NEW FAVORITE PLAYER' Dillon's comments echoed those of new teammate Saquon Barkley. Barkley played a round of golf with Trump in April, shortly before the Eagles visited Trump at the White House, and took those who were disappointed in him to task. "lol some people are really upset cause I played golfed and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT," Barkley posted to X shortly after the round. "Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long ago… and look forward to finishing my round with Trump ! Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have amazing day." Hulk Hogan and Danica Patrick also attended that October rally in Wisconsin, one of the seven swing states Trump had won to become president a second time.
